We live in a world filled with misery and violence.  It is easy to become hardened to this.  But then something so horrific happens that it shocks us out of our stupor.

This week Taliban gunman stormed a school in Pakistan, massacring everyone in sight.  When the bloodbath was over, almost 150 were dead, the vast majority of them children.

What is a Christian to think in the wake of such a vile act?

We can lament this crime.  And we can make Psalm 10:14-15 our prayer.

"But You, O God, do see trouble and grief.  You consider it to take it in hand.  The victim commits himself to You. . . .  Break the arm of the wicked and evil man.  Call him to account for his wickedness."
